Job Summary

The Department of Comparative Pathobiology (CPB) and the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine are seeking a full-time (12-month) Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist. ADDL is a full-service, AAVLD-accredited, Tier 2 diagnostic laboratory. There are ten board-certified anatomic pathologists in the CPB department, with six participating in the diagnostic efforts of the ADDL.

  • Clinical track Assistant/Associate/Full professor
  • Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with academic record and experience.
Qaulifications
  • DVM or equivalent degree
  • Board certification or eligibility by the American or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP or ECVP)
  • Experienced diagnostician with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, laboratory staff, and other stakeholders aligned with the mission of the diagnostic laboratory and department.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Service - Perform diagnostic pathology duties, including necropsies and biopsies with histopathologic examinations of these cases, writing reports, and consultation and advice to clinical veterinarians, producers, and owners.
  • Teaching - Opportunities exist to teach in the DVM, VN, anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and laboratory animal medicine residency programs.
  • Research - Maintain a program of scholarly activities, which may include participation in collaborative research, providing continuing education/outreach to ADDL constituencies, presentations at local, regional, and/or national meetings, and publication in peer-reviewed journals
