Marketing Manager, Specialist

Vanguard’s Global Brand team is responsible for defining and telling Vanguard’s story in ways that set us apart and inspire action. We’re currently look for a Brand Marketing Strategist to join the Brand Strategy & Insights team. This person will help develop strategy and messaging for enterprise-wide brand and product marketing campaigns, as well as contribute heavily to the knowledge and insights platforms created within the Brand Strategy & Insights team.
We’re looking for someone who will contribute to our culture of creative excellence and effectiveness, through deeper understanding of our target audiences, cohesive analysis of our competitive landscape, a passion for bringing new ideas to life across all lines of business. This person will be a part of the team that strengthens and evolves Vanguard’s brand in the industry, through consistent objectives, focused messaging, and inspirational creative briefs.
In this role, you will:
Identify and help solve complex business problems through branding and marketing.
Collaborate in depth with partners in brand activation, media, research and line of business marketing partners.
Support strategy and creative brief development for enterprise-wide brand marketing campaigns.
Use strong writing and analytical skills to distill primary and secondary research into discernible trends and opportunities.
Promote knowledge and information across internal marketing teams, writing and delivering presentations with key insights and actionable implications about our business, clients and prospects.
Help build a vision for audience and competitive knowledge, both in compiling resources and making that knowledge accessible across Vanguard.
What it takes:
Minimum 5 years related work experience in a marketing/branding organization
Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications or equivalent experience.
You’ve already proven yourself in the following areas:
Hands-on experience in business, brand and consumer analysis and synthesis
Strong communication skills in a professional context
Effective stakeholder management (internal partners and external vendors)
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders
An innate sense of curiosity and drive, both for our industry and the science and creativity of marketing
Passion for identifying and inspiring the use of creativity to solve business challenges
You’ve demonstrated potential in the following areas :
Understanding of the financial services industry
Comfort in navigating research and industry resources
Distilling large amounts of information into a concise, actionable narrative
Interest in the use of creativity to build brand and drive business results
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Conduct and present analyses and contribute to the Brand Team’s tentpole reports and workshops, including audience deep dives and competitive landscape reports.
Continuously monitor industry and competitor developments to inform our own brand positioning, messaging, and media tactics.
Support Brand Strategy team across all projects with Brand Activation and Investment Marketing teams, ensuring that advertising and marketing briefs (and materials) are single-minded and aligned to audience needs.
Maintain a robust set of vendor/partner tools and resources (including OWL, Our Wisdom Library) that help us better understand our category, our customers, and our competitors. Partially own the product experience and roadmap for disseminating that knowledge across the enterprise in efficient and valuable ways.
Drive the development of continuous feedback to improve our vendor/partner knowledge database.
