This role involves determining deficiencies and notifying providers to complete records, ensuring accurate and timely filing and chart order of medical records, as well as maintenance and retrieval of medical records and reports. The representative creates and routes chart folders for new patients, collects all current discharges, and retrieves old charts from various departments. Collaboration with Physicians regarding incomplete charts may be required. The role demands strict adherence to patient confidentiality standards and departmental policies. Chart Completion: Handle high volumes of patient records and documents, including merging duplicate records, collecting current and old records from nursing units, delivering charts to patient care areas, and accurately filing patient charts and folders. Physician Collaboration: Notify physicians of incomplete records, retrieve incomplete records for physicians, log physician visits, check records for completion, and maintain accurate suspension logs and lists. Reception Duties: Perform reception duties as needed, including filing reports, retrieving charts, and assisting physicians or visitors.Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology, chart analysis, and medical record tracking. Proficiency in verbal communication and telephone skills. Ability to handle detailed confidential information effectively. Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and medical record documentation. Ability to develop good working relationships with physicians, clinical ancillary departments, department coworkers, and other healthcare professionals. Knowledge of Electronic Health Records system applications
