General Responsibilities:

· Advise senior management on trade compliance laws and regulations.

· Main contact for global trade compliance at specific sites.

· Ensure compliance with regulations governing the shipment and documentation of imports/exports.

· Conduct internal trade compliance training and drive process improvements.

· Audit import/export processes, report results, and implement corrective actions.

· Resolve trade compliance issues with third parties.

· Develop strategic solutions to support business operations.

Export Compliance Responsibilities:

· Serve as Empowered Official for ITAR facilities.

· Develop and deploy integrated export compliance programs.

· Perform jurisdiction and classification determinations.

· Integrate export compliance into product introduction processes.

· Support marking and management of Technical Data and Technology.

· Prepare Commodity Jurisdiction and Classification requests for DDTC and BIS.

· Manage export hold system in Oracle and SAP.

· Complete license applications and ensure compliance with provisos and conditions.

· Use applicable exemptions and exceptions compliantly.

· Conduct de minimis and Foreign Direct Product Rule evaluations.

· Run training programs for U.S. employees.

· Respond to regulator information requests.

· Raise awareness of U.S. export compliance requirements.

· Maintain robust recordkeeping for export compliance activities.

Import Compliance Responsibilities:

· Strengthen import compliance for U.S. facilities.

· Maintain import compliance Standard Operating Procedures.

· Manage corporate customs brokers.

· Conduct internal audits and drive improvements.

· Review and audit import brokerage clearances.

· Determine HS code classifications and proper valuation for imports.

· Ensure compliance with free trade agreements and other duty reduction programs.

· Monitor and audit valuation of goods imported into the U.S.

· Understand Preferential and non-Preferential Country of Origin determination.

Education & Experience

· Knowledge of U.S. import/export laws and regulations, including ITAR, EAR, US Customs, and OFAC.

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

· 5+ years in an import/export environment.

· Advanced knowledge of ERP (Oracle) or SAP systems.

Skills
