Winchester, United States Trex Company Full time
JOB DESCRIPTION

When you work at Trex, you're helping to grow and enhance a true original. You join a company that boldly launched an entire industry... and still leads the way.

We are looking for a Process Engineer to help us address various issues related to process, equipment, materials, quality, and EHS. As a Trex Process Engineer, you will be looked to as an innovator in the manufacturing process and expected to develop and maintain operating parameters, provide technical support to production teams, coordinate equipment repair and replacement, and manage die repair and development. This role is a key member of our Engineering team.

Our Operations team is guided by 5 beliefs:

  1. We put people first
  2. We all operate on the same page
  3. We own it
  4. We are always tuned for success
  5. We make dynamic decisions

It's how we started and how we continue to lead the industry - finding intersections of opportunity and hard work, digging in, and digging deep. The result is progress, both for the company and for the people building their careers here. If you are values-driven and share our beliefs, if you are willing to hold yourself and others accountable to the highest standards, then Trex is a place you can call home.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Put safety first - Always
  • Lead and foster our "people first" culture.
  • Develop processes and procedures for the function of plant equipment required in manufacturing wood/plastic composites. Establish and maintain the required operating parameters, based on observed data and best practices, with minimal supervision from the supervisor.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Production Supervisors, Process Technicians, and maintenance team members to solve problems and optimize the operation of plant equipment.
  • Assume responsibility for the proper operation of the manufacturing lines and coordinate the repair and replacement of these pieces of equipment as needed.
  • Assume responsibility for all die repair and development.
  • Communicate project and process status with weekly reports to the Site Technical Manager.
  • Recommend capital projects based on a cost-benefit analysis and the intended production impact. Work with other departments on capital projects or improvements, identify necessary resources, and follow up to assess the operational success of the installed equipment.
  • Problem-solving expertise to address process, equipment, materials, quality, and EHS issues.
EXPERIENCE

We are looking for leaders with a bachelor's degree in engineering along with 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment managing manufacturing processes and procedures. Plastic processing and/or extrusion experience is preferred. We want to hear from you if you have previous experience as an Industrial or Manufacturing Engineer.
