Job Overview
The Rightworks team is looking for a Senior Events Manager, reporting to the Senior Director, Events and Community. The ideal candidate is a dedicated team player who is passionate about creating amazing experiences. Want a chance to use your skills in team-based interaction, project management and event execution? This is the job for you This is a demanding and diverse role that requires the ability to work under pressure and exhibit superior organizational skills while balancing multiple events, projects and responsibilities. In this role, you will own the management and execution of outbound marketing campaigns to drive registrations and attendance to a roster of events, which includes working cross-functionally within the organization to launch best-in-class brand experiences for both in person and virtual events.
The ideal candidate has strong communication and organizational skills, a project management mindset and entrepreneurial, collaborative, and a results-oriented approach to lead and/or support the creation of high-touch experiences that engage prospective customers and elevate our brand. They should also have the ability to skillfully handle change while managing multiple events and stakeholders. Core focus will be developing our events strategy, assisting with production of owned conferences, participation in industry events such as tradeshows and webinar production. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while multitasking, re-prioritizing projects, and maintaining strong lines of communication with stakeholders is a key attribute needed. This role has the support of an events coordinator and events manager; personnel management is required.
Responsibilities
- Support the Sr. Director of Customer Acquisition in developing an events strategy that reflects our core priorities and differentiates our brands in the market
- Plan, execute, and own a wide range of in-person events, including small- and large-scale industry conferences as well as bespoke activations and proprietary events
- Partner closely with internal departments to ensure cross-functional alignment on event goals and target outcomes
- Maintain and manage a network of vendor partners to assist with various aspects of event management, including venue sourcing, production, registration, branding, and onsite logistics.
- Ensure events are on track, benchmarks met, roadblocks addressed, and execution is on time
- Create and maintain comprehensive project reporting and documentation
- Enable and empower sales team and other stakeholders to drive participation in events
- Collaborate with social media manager to craft and schedule social media posts, aligned with field and virtual events.
- Liaise with the email marketing to develop event marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with Creative Services on required events collateral including booth graphics, sell sheets, and marketing giveaways.
- Set goals and track key performance metrics related to event success, such as on-site meetings/engagements, lead generation, post-event follow-up and ROI.
- Manage events budget, track ROI, engagement, and audience feedback to measure results, assess opportunities for improvement, and optimize future events.
- Required skills 7+ years' experience in conference event production, hybrid and in-person
- 5+ years' experience with events strategy and execution (B2B focus)
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, hospitality or communications
- Excellent knowledge of and hands-on experience with all aspects of event management, including creative, planning, logistics, vendor negotiation, registration and brand experience
- Experience working with registration and meeting tools (ex. CVENT, GlobalMeet (or similar)
- Exemplary presence - written and verbal communication skills
- Motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Superior project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate needs
- Ability to travel up to 30-40% of the time. Including occasional evenings or weekends
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
