Were seeking mid-level process engineers with experience designing mine-impacted water or industrial water for federal and global private sector clients. Ideally based in Tempe, Arizona (preference towards the West or Southwestern states), youll work with other scientists, engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers on exciting projects nationwide. Youll apply your technical experience in the design of industrial water remedial actions and/or environmental remediation systems with the support of our global remediation technology team. Your analytical skills will be called upon as you evaluate site conditions, determine data needs, perform engineering calculations, and develop designs for our mining and industrial water clients. Youll use your technical writing skills to prepare work plans, reports, and design documents, including design specifications. Youll learn from other experienced staff who are ready to mentor you, and youll pass your knowledge on to others. As a mid-level engineer, youll be directed by Design Managers and discipline leads, but you will be called on to take ownership of assigned tasks. Most of your work will be office-based, but you may spend some time in the field supporting or overseeing the gathering of design data through bench and pilot scale testing. Safety will be your priority as you contribute to operational excellence and maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance in everything you do. This is a hybrid position where youll be afforded the flexibility to work from both the office as well as from home as best suited to meet project delivery goals while maintaining balance. * Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or other closely related engineering field. * Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification. * Working understanding of mine practices and water management. * Minimum of 2 years of experience with mine water characterization, treatment, and high-density sludge processes. * Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in water treatment studies and an understanding of data collection and design methodology and procedures. * Ability to communicate concisely and proactively, via written and verbal communications, with team members. * Ability to work with team members located nationwide, in varying geographies. * Strong organizational skills and ability to document design decisions and action items. * Willingness to travel as needed to mine sites to support ongoing pilot testing or site evaluations; estimated to be up to 20 percent. * Based within the United States. Ideally, youll also have: * Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in at least one US jurisdiction, or a path to achieve it within one year. * Experience related to construction and operation of water treatment systems for industrial and mine water clients. * Current Mine Safety and Health Administration training requirements. * 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification. * Experience working on active mine sites and overseeing subcontractors and/or third-party construction contractors.
