Reports To: Credit Manager

Position Overview:
The Sr. Credit Analyst is responsible for processing customer credit documents at Hubbell, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and workflow tools. The role involves guiding internal and external stakeholders, handling special circumstances (e.g., security interests, bankruptcy cases), and building relationships across finance, accounting, sales, and customer service to ensure effective credit processes. Additionally, the analyst will assist in evaluating credit reporting tools/resources and work closely with the Collections team to interpret and analyze account risks.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Handle intake of credit requests and inquiries from various business groups.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of financial statements, credit reports, and other data to evaluate the financial health and creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
  • Assess credit risk and make recommendations for credit approvals or rejections.
  • Develop and implement credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment models.
  • Collaborate with collections to identify and address customers with potential payment or cash flow issues.
  • Ensure compliance with process and policy in collaboration with the 3rd party processing team.
  • Assist the Credit Manager with data gathering and reporting for annual reviews, presentations, and bankruptcies.
  • Identify and report special credit situations, such as emergency orders, bankruptcies, and write-offs.
  • Maintain close relations with sales, finance, customer service, IT, and accounting staff for credit-related matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • 3+ years in a commercial credit or collections role within a large organization ($500 Million annual sales or more).
  • 3+ years evaluating commercial customers for creditworthiness.
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with large-scale ERP systems and A/R components.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Skilled in analyzing commercial financial statements.
  • Basic understanding of receivable securitization options (liens, LOCs, deposits/prepayments).
  • Familiarity with basic commercial bankruptcy rules and processes.
  • Strong communication skills with sales and customers.
  • Experience preparing for and presenting in person or via MS Teams.
