We are looking to hire a Senior Consultant to support our Washington, D.C. area financial and strategy advisory practice. This is an in-person position. Successful candidates will have 2-5 years of experience in a consulting environment, will be intellectually curious individuals who work well in teams, are eager to learn, and can maintain high levels of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. They will also have proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives.

Logistics Capital & Strategy (LCS) offers a challenging, well-compensated opportunity for those with relevant business experience. We are seeking candidates who can lead business analysis and synthesize it into compelling client presentations. Successful candidates can write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience. Prefer people with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, mature judgment, and ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

Successful candidates will have the ability to:

  • Develop financial and business models using Excel and Tableau
  • Lead or support strategy engagement teams from origination to transaction completion
  • Prepare compelling presentation materials including effective visualization of analytical findings using PowerPoint
  • Assist in the development of junior staff
  • Conduct primary and secondary research on industries, markets, costs, customers, and competitors

The firm provides a broad range of advisory services to companies and institutional investors in transportation and logistics. Our clients include some of the largest and most prominent global transportation companies as well as to private equity firms and other stakeholders in supply-chain intensive industries. Typical client engagements require us to work closely with senior management and principal owners of a target business.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (General experience with building quantitative models using Excel)
  • Skilled with Microsoft PowerPoint -- Ability to creatively synthesize quantitative data output into compelling, qualitative presentation materials
  • Experience with quantitative data collection and synthesis
  • Experience with Tableau and/or other data modeling/visualization software packages
  • Familiarity with general business/financial/accounting concepts
  • College Degree (Minimum of Bachelor's degree; any academic field)

  • Educational background that demonstrates critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to provide solutions to complex problems
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Effective communicator
  • Team player who is able to multi-task while still remaining attentive to detail
  • Strong interest in collaborative work within a small-firm environment that supports the development of a wide range of skills and knowledge
  • Flexibility with regards to work schedule and the hours required to finalize deliverables
  • Ability and willingness to travel to client sites as needed (but most work is done in our Arlington, VA office)
  • Additional experience with statistical modeling software (i.e. Quantrix, SQL, R, SAS, etc.) or programming languages (i.e. Python, Pandas, etc.) are a plus
