Position Summary
The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center,Department of Internal Medicine, seeks exceptional faculty members to join adedicated group of medical educators in the Division of Hospital Medicine towork jointly at the University of New Mexico main campus in Albuquerque andSandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho. The position is open rank/opentrack. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education. We offer anexcellent benefit and compensation plan, and a rich quality of life in the highdesert of New Mexico.
Benefits of being an Academic Nocturnist at UNM include:
- Faculty appointment within UNM School of Medicine
- Overseeing upper-level residents/APP's in their cross-cover and admitting roles
- Closed ICUs, limited procedural requirements for hospitalist
- Option to pursue mixed model day and night roles
- Opportunity to teach medical students and resident physicians in both pre-clinical and clinical years of training
- Early opportunities for protected time for education, leadership and quality improvement
- Competitive salary with additional pay for working on direct care services and extra night shifts available
- Experience in both academic and community settings to build skills and confidence
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine by date ofhire.
- Experience/interest innighttime medicine
- Experience/interest inmedical education or quality improvement activities
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion,and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
