Markets Sales Manager Job Description

Job Summary: Responsible for actively seeking new accounts and markets. Partner with various departments to market Micro Market snack operations, including developing sales strategies, following up on new leads, and formulating advertising campaigns. Professionally represent Mahaska while building relationships. Assist with implementation for new customers. Achieve sales goals as assigned.

Reports to: Chief of Operations

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Understand and promote the company's marketing strategy for assigned departments and territories.
  2. Regularly call on new accounts.
  3. Develop relationships with key stakeholders at new accounts while aggressively pursuing new business.
  4. Prepare and execute presentations to potential customers.
  5. Be familiar with and assist with the entire process, including implementation and understanding of the technology.
  6. Monitor competitor activity. Suggest improvements based on market expectations and feedback from customers.
  7. Communicate regularly with Snack Route Salesmen and Snack Route Supervisors to solicit feedback.
  8. Support and train end users as a Parlevel super-user.
  9. Work in conjunction with Snack Route Supervisors, Director of Purchasing, and Warehouse Managers to ensure appropriate product code dates and inventory levels.
  10. Stay informed of all new products available and recommend additions or deletions from our product list as sales dictate. Suggest new products and utilize market data to recommend sku adjustments as well as pricing adjustments.
  11. Help assist and assign accounts to routes and set up sequences and frequencies the accounts are to be serviced.
  12. Inspect vendors periodically for cleanliness, product mix, and merchandising, and conduct audits regularly.
  13. Notify and follow up with the Mahaska Vending Maintenance department in ensure proper service attention to all machines and equipment.
  14. Assist in setting up new vendor & market placements.
  15. Maintain a positive image in the community and with customers. Dress according to company standards.
  16. Promote cooperation and communication between all departments, always encouraging that the primary goal be customer satisfaction.
  17. Attend and participate in sales meetings.
  18. Maintain a team attitude and be willing to perform any other task that would help in the efficiency and cooperation of the company business.
  19. Have reliable and regular transportation.


Qualifications:
  1. Previous vending route experience is helpful.
  2. The ability to travel.
  3. Relates well to others - Is comfortable approaching new people and developing relationships with key stakeholders at new accounts. Thrives on making the sale and closing a deal.
  4. Attention to Detail - Is thorough with good follow through.
  5. Communication Skills - Is skilled with communicating both verbally and in writing to a wide range of constituents. Comfortable presenting to multiple customers at a time.
  6. Customer Service Skills - Works with external customers to provide a positive experience.
  7. Computer and technical skills - The ability to learn new technology and explain to others.
  8. Problem Solving Skills - The ability to identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information and use sound judgement to generate and recommend solutions.
  9. Organizational Skills - The ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure while prioritizing effectively.
