We are currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Cost Accountant, for our manufacturing plant located in Roanoke, Virginia.As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the organization by overseeing and optimizing cost-related processes. Your responsibilities will include bill of material audits, managing inventory, analyzing financial data, preparing budget reports, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in cost accounting in a manufacturing setting, financial analysis, and a deep understanding of business operations. Highlights of your role: Conduct thorough cost analysis on various aspects of the business, including production costs, overhead expenses, and inventory valuation.Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for cost optimization.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and monitor annual budgets.Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis to ensure alignment with organizational goals.Oversee the valuation and control of inventory, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.Work closely with operations, supply chain, and other relevant departments to gather data and insights for accurate cost analysis.Support the month end and year end close process by performing account reconciliations and preparing journal entries.Monitor financial trends and key performance indicators to identify opportunities. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can): Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.Proven experience as a Cost Accountant with at least 5-7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required.Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.Strategic thinker with the ability to provide valuable insights for decision-making.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems and Power BI.Proficient in Excel (Intermediate to Advanced User required).Self-motivated; work with limited supervision.
