Seeking a motivated individual to be a principal project Engineer leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers (including systems, mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines) developing complex engineering solutions The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international As a key member of the Avionics Test Engineering leadership team, the Senior Project Engineering ensures the successful execution of test solution projects from inception, through deployment to customers, as well as long-term support Typical test solutions include Optical, In-circuit Test, Boundary Scan, as well as COTS components such as switch systems, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and other related equipment coupled with custom software for performing Environmental Stress Screening as well as testing circuit card assemblies and top-level products. The ideal candidate will have an unwavering positive attitude, be highly responsive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and strive to perform high-quality work proactively and efficiently They will have strong project execution, leadership, and critical thinking skills They will be passionate about performing data analysis for creating accurate bids and crafting attractive proposals. The role requires working closely with engineers and leaders, at various locations around the globe, to ensure project success Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision-making and continuous improvement purposesManage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed to commitmentsGenerate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical pathUtilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget (and schedule)Ensure project meets quality expectationsIdentify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownershipPrepare well-crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teamsDevelop Engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gaining organizational buy-in

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have prior project leadership of multidiscipline engineering teams, managing customer relationships, and a Master of Engineering or Master of Business AdministrationStrong leadership traits and practicesSound technical knowledge in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: systems, mechanical, electrical, or softwareAbility to establish and maintaining effective customer relationshipsOutstanding oral, written, and formal presentation communication skillsSharp critical thinking approachesAttention to detailExcellent organizational and time management skills to effectively execute multiple active projectsResiliency in the face of adversityProficiency with developing and maintaining schedules using Microsoft ProjectComfortable managing projects with scope comprised of numerous intricate requirementsAn acumen for Earned Value managementExperience with Risk and Opportunity management
