JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Senior Software Engineer at Northwestern MutualLife Insurance Company in Franklin, Wisconsin will design, build, test,release, and support existing and new risk products. Develop solutionsto meet business needs through collaboration with business and technicalteams. Coordinate with enterprise architects and align solutions to meetarchitectural recommendations. Lead and drive design, development, anddelivery of new features and products while maintaining and enhancingexisting features and products. Mentor and provide technical expertiseto team members. Conduct design reviews, code reviews, optimize code,and ensure code quality for applications developed by team members.Provide data for regulatory driven audits and for other business units.Follow Agile Scrum software development lifecycle within all initiativesand actively participate in scrum ceremonies, including productincrement planning, sprint planning, sprint reviews and product demos.Engage with business clients and other stakeholders to ensuredeliverables are on track and meet end user expectations. Prioritizebacklog based on inputs from business, system architects, and otherstakeholders while monitoring dependencies and breaking down complexwork. Collaborate with release management and quality control managementto ensure application software changes are thoroughly tested before theyare released to production environment. Telecommuting permitted 2 daysper week. Requires a Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, engineering(computer, mechanical) or a related field plus 5 years of experience asa software engineer or related occupation. Experience must include 3years of experience with each of the following: (1) Mainframe, .Net, andJAVA platforms including use of PL/1, JCL, VSAM, DB2, SQL, CICS, FileManager, SAS, Control-M, and Changeman; (2) building and maintainingContinuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines; (3)requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing,deployment, and production support activities; (4) designing, coding,testing, and releasing artifacts; (5) collaborating and coordinatingwith multiple stakeholders and release and system testing teams; and (6)Agile scrum development and related activities including productincrement planning, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, andproduct demos.
