Interim Director of Finance

The Interim Director of Finance is responsible for the organization's financial functions, including accounting, tax, business planning, and risk management. In all actions, the successful candidate will demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures. This position is hybrid in Maple Plain, MN Roles & Responsibilities: Establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, and procedures Financial statement preparation and reporting, including standard financial statements as well as detailed schedules as requested/required Hands-on responsibility for day-to-day accounting operations (including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end closings, including general ledger reconciliation) Ensure adequate financial controls exist Setup accounting systems and integrate with MRP system Manage public accountant, banking, lending, and legal relationships Manage the annual financial audit Work closely with the Operations group to properly account for inventory & COGS Work closely with the Sales Ops team to track and report various sales metrics Payment of royalties Direct the tax functions of the company Participate with management in the development of strategic plans, annual operating plans, and forecasts Direct finance-related aspects of the Human Resources function Develop and implement a plan for analysis and evaluation of risk management practices Work with in-house and external counsel on finance-related corporate legal work Recruit, train, lead, and develop a team of accounting and financial staff as dictated by business needs Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields; Master's degree in Business Administration or Finance strongly preferred 7+ years' experience in applicable Accounting and Finance functions Experience in commercial-stage start-up medical device company, preferably at the Director level Certified Public Accountant or other related professional certification preferred Broad knowledge of accounting principles Experience in MRP implementation, preferably Net Suite Ability to be in office in Maple Plain, MN, as needed Proven track record of exceeding objectives Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong strategic, financial, and analytical abilities Understanding of the medical device market and ability to identify market trends and opportunities About Versique: At Versique, we believe people are more than a resume.
