Job purpose

Perform diversified duties to plan, organize and monitor the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received and shipped.

Duties and responsibilities

Responsible for directing and controlling warehouse, receiving, and shipping activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing raw materials and finished goods inventories.
Monitor and ensure that material transactions are carried out in an accurate and timely manner.
Responsible for inventory accuracy and cycle count program.
Supervise prompt delivery of merchandise of the kind and in the amount ordered. Maintain equipment structure and level to accomplish the Warehouse and Receiving mission in a safe, effective manner. Provide appropriate equipment and racking to ensure safe transport and storage of all materials. Research material handling equipment to ensure procurement of the most suitable equipment in terms of performance, safety, reliability, and cost.
Develop and train Warehouse Associates utilizing standard work and lean manufacturing concepts.
Implement metrics to monitor the health and efficiency of the department.
Functional knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, with a strong background in KanBan management

Qualifications

5+ years in leadership role in logistics, preferably in a manufacturing environment
High School Diploma
Extensive knowledge of supply chain logistics - domestic freight, exports, imports, cycle counts, inventory management.
Functional knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, with a strong background in KanBan management
Able to motivate, lead, train, and manage a team of hourly associates.
Able to prioritize, manage, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
Problem solving and analytical skills.
Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.

Working conditions

Office environment within a manufacturing facility.

Physical requirements

Must be able to move, lift, transport items at minimum of 20 lbs.
Must be able to consistently operate a computer/office productivity machinery i.e., calculator, copy machine, printer for a minimum of 6 hours per day.
Must be able to remain stationary for a minimum of 2 hours per day.
Must be able to detect and correct errors on paper/screens.
Must be able to communicate and exchange information with other members of the organization verbally, nonverbally, and in writing.
Must be able to move throughout the facility and office area to access file cabinets, office equipment, plant machinery, and other office areas as needed.
