The position will require working flexible hours and travel out of the assigned geographical area to support suppliers across the United States and possibly some international suppliers. Duties include: Performance at suppliers of scheduled product source inspections, first article inspections, and product line validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards.Provide internal and supplier support for root cause and corrective/preventive actions tied to Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs). Support Supplier requests tied to program requirements, interface with customer needs and program management activities.Participate (as required) in supplier's failure / diagnosis and Material Review Board (MRB) activities. Perform on-going surveillance of supplier's conformance to Lockheed Martin requirement documents and provide written weekly reports.Provide technical liaison support related to quality engineering matters.Ensure supplier contract flow-down requirements are implemented and verified and interfaces with supplier on a daily basis.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline or higher.Must have ability to obtain a security clearance. Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems.Understanding engineering drawing requirements and mechanical/electrical inspection methods.Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and to support all supplier quality field engineering activities.Strong communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports.Desired Skills:Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degreeAbility to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions.Knowledge and understanding of critical design attributes and auditing / surveying capabilities.
