Overview

The Senior Manager of Corporate Communications will manage the strategy, logistics, execution, and reporting for developing and distributing corporate communications across a global organization of more than 50,000 colleagues. In this role, you will partner with Gallagher’s corporate functions to communicate important information or new initiatives to Gallagher’s global colleagues and various targeted internal audiences. With deep experience developing and executing communications strategies, you will work closely across internal stakeholders, especially functional teams like Human Resources, Marketing and ESG, to form a clear understanding of their goals and leverage your communications expertise to help them be successful. The person in this role will be comfortable building relationships with key business partners and guiding each message to the right audience on the right platform at the right time. This role will influence communications timing, collaborating across departments and functions to create a balanced and effective messaging strategy and calendar. The successful person excels at communicating across various channels, including audio, video, email, and graphic design. In addition, you’ll be encouraged to follow your curiosity and explore new mediums that can best reach our global colleagues. This position will also play a significant role in the corporate team’s work as the center of excellence for internal communications within Gallagher. Your job will be to create visibility across divisional and functional communications efforts, ultimately identifying, codifying, and promoting the best practices internal communicators will use.

How you'll make an impact

Serve as a strategic partner for internal functional and leadership teams by guiding their communications needs. Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are efficiently communicated to employees and other stakeholders by leading the development and execution of

communications strategies and timelines. Lead or assist with special internal communications efforts or initiatives as they occur throughout the year, including content development. Develop creative, compelling, and timely global internal messaging. Measure the success of communications strategies, use data to identify improvement opportunities for the team, and report outcomes to Corporate Communications and business leaders.

About You

Required: Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience required. Highly Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing. At least 7+ years of relevant experience in communication strategy development, writing and editing content, and building relationships with business partners. Shown expertise in internal communications and ability to partner with various stakeholders and internal teams. Experience working on a Corporate Communications team for a large, complex organization. Ability to independently handle complex projects. Experienced in developing communications for varied audiences of all levels and adapting them for different distribution channels. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills. Strong consulting and analytical skills with the ability to assess communications performance goals and gaps. Excellent presence and ability to build and grow professional relationships at all levels of the organization. Collaborative team player. Prior experience in the financial services or insurance brokerage industry is a plus. Experience using multiple communications/marketing tools. Work Traits: Ability to form relationships and credibility across the organization. Able to consult and support key stakeholders based on undefined/changing business needs and priorities. Able to organize and prioritize work and adjust to changing priorities. Analyze and resolve best communication approaches and methods in consideration of audience, content, and emerging technologies.
