Job Summary

The Sr. Manager, Key Account Project Execution will be responsible for the strategic oversight and management of Urban Grid's key client relationships. This role will involve developing and executing account strategies to drive revenue growth, enhance client satisfaction, and ensure the successful delivery of renewable energy projects. The Sr. Manager, will build and lead a team dedicated to managing strategic accounts and will work closely with internal stakeholders to align our services with client needs. This position emphasizes contract administration throughout the lifecycle from signing the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), through financing, and until handoff to asset management once the asset in the PPA is operational. The role requires a balance of customer-centric focus and project execution to meet the needs of our customers.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management:

Build, develop, and lead a high-performing Key Accounts team. Provide mentorship, training, and professional development to team members.

Client Relationship Management:

Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients. Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships by understanding their needs, challenges, and objectives.

Strategic Planning:

Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve business goals and drive revenue growth. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling our products and services.

Contract Administration:

Oversee contract administration throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring all contractual obligations are met from PPA signing, through financing, and until handoff to asset management. Manage negotiations, enforce terms, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, the development team, and financing teams to ensure a cohesive approach to project execution and client management.

Performance Tracking:

Establish key performance metrics and regularly review the team's progress. Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on account performance and team achievements.

Issue Resolution:

Proactively identify and resolve any issues or concerns raised by clients. Ensure prompt and effective resolution to maintain client satisfaction.

Market Insight:

Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and client developments. Use this knowledge to inform strategic decisions and enhance client relationships.

Project Development & Technical Guidance: 

Provide internal and customer support around the technical aspects of project development, execution, and operational issues. Ensure projects meet technical standards and regulatory requirements.

Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate risks associated with project development and execution. Develop strategies to address technical and commercial challenges.

Customer Advocacy:

Act as a customer advocate within the organization, ensuring customer needs and feedback are prioritized in decision-making processes.

Diverse Customer Engagement:

Work with a diverse group of customers, including big tech buyers and utilities, to tailor our solutions to meet their unique requirements and drive mutual success.

Execution Excellence:

Ensure that projects and PPAs are executed efficiently and effectively to meet customer expectations and contractual deadlines. Collaborate with internal teams to align project delivery with customer requirements.hance overall performance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Proven experience (10+ years) in account management, sales, or a related role within the renewable energy sector or a similar industry.

Demonstrated ability to build and lead a successful team.

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with solar projects in the PJM, MISO, and SERC regions is required.

Experience with renewable energy projects and familiarity with solar energy technologies.

Knowledge of regulatory and market dynamics in the renewable energy sector.

Experience in project management and operational process improvement.

Technical knowledge of project development processes, including site selection, permitting, and interconnection.

Location: Houston Office preferred, or Hybrid working may be acceptable for this role and will be looked at on a case by case basis. Position may require periodic travel for team meetings, events or determined on an as needed basis.
