As the Electrical Engineer working for a global oil and gas company focusing on decarbonization of industries, and evolving new energy systems to stimulate energy transition, you will be accountable for design, construction, testing, and installation for large scale data centers. The Electrical Engineer plays a critical role during the manufacturing stage and assessing site installation troubleshooting issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and approve drawings / design for accuracy
  • Ensure reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical scope of work
  • Attend Design and Development Planning and Review sessions
  • Prepare requisitions for electrical, fire and other components
  • Review quotes and provide feedback to procurement team
  • Prepare and complete engineering drawings, documents, and calculations
  • Design and complete earthing protection and lighting studies systems.
  • Analyze electrical systems to identify and resolve issues, including load balancing, capacity planning, and power consumption optimization.
  • Attend job site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities as needed.

COMPENSATION:
  • Salary starting at $100,000/year DOE
  • Excellent benefits package

LOCATION: Houston, TX

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Professional Engineering License (Strongly Preferred)

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in electrical design and/or electrical engineering, with a focus on data center infrastructure
  • Ability to produce drawings/sketches to illustrate design/ideas.
  • General knowledge and direct experience with the construction, operation, and maintenance of data centers or building electrical systems.
  • Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments
  • Understand the principle of electrical power and its components, procedures, and standards for power system equipment sizing and design.
  • Understands the purpose of electrical system for facility.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including but not limited to: IEC, IBC, OSHA, NEC, and NFPA
  • Experience with CAD and BIM software.
  • Detailed understanding of UPS (uninterruptable power sources), diesel generators, medium and low voltage electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, electrical control systems, low voltage rectification systems, and other critical electrical equipment found within data centers.
  • Familiarity with medium and high voltage power distribution systems design
  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and system design within data center driving or affecting electrical scope.
  • Direct experience in negotiating with regulatory agencies regarding departures from code and ultimately achieving design approval and permitting.
