Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting the accounts payable team and the accounting manager with accounts payable and general business accounting.
This is a hybrid role based in Washington, DC.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Capable of working under pressure and able to prioritize tasks.
- Good communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Collaborative, team-oriented individual.
- Knowledge of accounting software/ERPs.
- Experience with MS Office especially Excel.
- Assists with wire setup in CashPro.
- Assists with vendor setup in JAMIS.
- Assists with processing ACH and checks.
- Assists Manager with monthly posting to GL.
- Prepares administrative vouchers and support payments.
- Assists with pulling support documentation for annual audit.
- Creates and maintains vendor files in accounting software and corresponds with vendors to ascertain complete files such as W8 and W9 forms.
- Provides backup support for other accounting job functions as needed.
- Enters transaction and financial activity in accounting system to include Accounts Payable vouchers, WT vouchers, and WT/MU vouchers.
