Participates in new organizational programs and planning as requested. Collaborates with Quality Management staff to focus organization learning with the goal of decreasing patient safety events and increasing quality. Utilizes simulation equipment and simulation lab effectively. Facilitates educational events, such as live and virtual classes and eLearning courses.A Professional Development Specialist RN is a nursing education professional whose role is to improve the professional practice of nurses and other healthcare personnel by facilitating ongoing learning, change, and role competency and growth. It also includes elements of instructional design: assess, design, develop, implement, evaluate and maintain engaging educational products to support Summit Healthcare Association learning needs through the use of educational and instructional technologies. Identifies the performance skills, knowledge, information and motivation gaps of a targeted audience and work collaboratively to design and create learning experiences to fill the gaps. Arizona License (required).Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Nursing Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related area (preferred).Three years related experience in the use of HealthStream or other LMS system to develop online content (preferred).Experience in learning design, storyboarding and presentation techniques.Experience in eLearning creation and assets using tools such as Adobe Captivate, iSpring, Articulate, Camtasia, Lectora, PowerPoint, and/or others (preferred).Experience in researching, writing, and conducting evidence-based practice projects (preferred).Experience in managing multiple projects and tasks.BLS/CPR/AED CertificationPhysical Demands & Job Conditions:Exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work.
