Job Title: Activities/Engagement DirectorLocation: Windrose at Weymouth Assisted Living Community Weymouth, MA 02190Hours: Full TimeJob Description:The Activities Director is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of an activities and recreation program for facility residents in accordance with current/existing state regulatory agencies. Assures that the spiritual development as well as emotional, recreational and social needs are met and maintained on an individual basis. Consistently employs the Community's BBET program, Connect formally Peer and Lifeloop. Reporting Relationships:The Activities Director reports to the Executive Director.Responsibilities:The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Coordinate and/or assist with the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing of the Activities Programs of the community.Meet with administration, resident care staff and other related departments for planning activities.Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the community and outside community agencies to assure that the activities programs can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the Residents.Assist in the development of and participation in regularly scheduled orientation and in-service training programs.Be fully trained to manage and train the Community's BBET program.Interview Resident and their families as necessary to better provide activities to meet individual needs and involve Residents' families in planning activities when possible.Assist in arranging transportation and escorts for field trips and to other facilities whenever possible, if applicable.Encourage Resident participation and provide necessary materials for programs according to the departmental budget.Record and maintain activity progress notes as well as a record of Resident activitiesPrepare and post a schedule of activities and keep the Orientation Board current.Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent Resident care information to assure Resident Rights are protected.Organize and maintain a Volunteer Program, if applicable.Report any changes in Residents' condition immediately to the resident care department.Report all accidents/incidents immediately to the Executive Director or supervisorSchedule outside activities and groups for residents if applicable.Provide tours of the community and an explanation of the admission procedure to prospective Residents and family members.Assist with daily rounds to ensure the well-being of the Residents.Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary.Develop and maintain a monthly Community Newsletter for Residents and their families.Review complaints and make necessary oral/written reports to the Executive DirectorRecommend to the Executive Director the equipment and supply needs of the department.Distribute Residents' mail, if applicable.Adhere to and carry out all Company policies and procedures.Report on-the-job injuries to a supervisor before the end of the day on the day an injury occurs.Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, Residents/families, and visitors.Promote the community in a positive wayPromote teamwork in providing highest quality customer service to residents, families and visitorsParticipate in Manager on Duty program.Assist with all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred; previous experience in recreational field and Memory Care preferred.Physical Demands:Physically able to move at least 50 lbs. without assistancePhysically able to bend, reach, and work in small areas.Physically able to push and pull equipment and furnishings.Physically able to stand and to work on hands and knees for long periods of time.Benefits:Full time position offers a competitive benefit program to include Medical, Dental, Vision, Health FSA, Dependent Care FSA, Short-Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, Home and Auto Discount program, Vendor Discount Program, 401(k) with matching contribution, Accrued Vacation, Sick, and Personal time and Paid Holiday Benefit.
