About the Role
The Cost Accountant is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the integrity of the division's inventory value and standard manufacturing cost process. The position will provide analysis for business performance and identify areas of improvement.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage all product costing.
- Investigate and detail all material-related variances.
- Work closely with the Materials Department.
- Process all steel resale charges and prepare pass through charges to suppliers. Follow up on outstanding issues.
- Generate monthly offal charges to suppliers.
- Perform quarterly/annual standard cost updates in ERP system.
- Perform quarterly BOM audits.
Someone that has exceptional attention to detail, organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills. Candidates must be able to interact effectively with team members from different departments and have the ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment. Experience with month end close tasks and tracking fixed asset spending and tooling spending is a plus.
Your preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- At least 5 years finance experience in a manufacturing operations setting.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
