Description / Position Overview
SEASONAL - Building Monitor Westside Community Center (PT Administrative Support)
In this position, you will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations, after-hour rentals (evening and weekend), and social media/marketing efforts at Westside Community Center.
This is a seasonal (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association).
Normal work hours will vary based on the needs of the department. Typically, this position will require a minimum of 20 hours each week with the opportunity to work extra hours.
Essential Functions the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
- Be present as a staff representative for facility events and programs
- Assist users with various event and program needs during their events and programs
- Assist with center promotional materials, social media posts, and general marketing efforts
- Perform minor custodial duties post-event/program
- Assist with setup and breakdown of facility events and programs, including organizing chairs, tables, projectors, program supplies, decorations, etc.
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and strong ability to multitask
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively, orally and in writing
- Establish effective working relationships; both internally and with external partners and customers
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Enjoys working with the public
- Experience in a community center environment
- Building monitor or special event support experience
- Experience with Social Media and Marketing
Ideal candidates will also have
- Experience with special event support
The ability to work flexible hours with evening and weekend availability is required.
Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to stand, stoop, walk, climb, and bend for extended periods and lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
