Senior Software Engineer

We Are:Strateos has developed the first robotic cloud laboratory platform for on-demand life science research by integrating laboratory processes, instruments and IoT technologies into a single user interface. Top ten pharmaceutical companies and emerging biotech companies use the platform to conduct efficient, reproducible and rapid experimentation from anywhere in the world. Most recently Strateos has been selected to partner with Eli Lilly to develop and operate an 11,500 square ft fully automated compound synthesis and bioassay system. Our Team:Our team charter is to build quality software solutions which enable scientists to capture and retrieve experimental scientific intent; creating an idea to data pipeline. We are looking to add experienced software engineers who want to build the future of scientific discovery. We joined this company to fundamentally change the landscape of scientific research and want to work with people who appreciate this mission. Our team focuses on... building applications, services, and features that provide users a mechanism to achieve reproducible and scalable experimental execution on the Strateos platform. This includes building an intuitive graphical interface, capturing and tracking critical scientific intent from our users, translating this intent into executable code for robotics, and returning meaningful data to our users. We have a broad technology stack, utilizing multiple languages (Python, Ruby, Java, Scala) and frameworks (Rails, Spring, Node.js). You Have:7years of professional software development experience Fluency in at least one major programming language, e.g. Java, C/C++, Scala, or Python Knowledge of UNIX, system administration, networking, etc. Familiarity with cloud services, primarily AWS Proficient in software engineering practices encompassing the software development life cycle, including coding standards, code/design reviews, source control management, CI/CD, testing, and infrastructure A proven understanding of storage and data processing systems, interface and API design, and the ability to use and apply them in real-world situations with complex constraints Experience implementing, scaling and debugging large scale distributed systems with an event driven architecture Worked extensively with high volume low latency messaging infrastructure such as RabbitMQ or Kafka Experience working closely across a variety of teams including other backend engineers, front end engineers, and product management Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of driving collaboration both within your team and with other teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; the capability to take a high-level mission and translate it into action with minimal guidance Experience leading an 8week project, completing on time and to quality standards Ability to draw clear diagrams and provide clean presentations of computing concepts Proactively recognized platform wide challenges and proposed solutions Mentored fellow engineers A can-do attitude and are a conscientious communicator Enjoyed working with a variety of languages/runtimes You Want:A challenging environment that will push you to grow and improve professionally, every day Opportunities to learn new technologies and fields, along with the freedom to work on hard technology and real science Competitive salary and meaningful equity Flexible vacation policy Medical, dental, and vision insurance Pre-tax commuter benefits Wellness Program Lunch and unlimited snacks when in office Professional development budget 401(k) matchingSalary Range:$100K -- $150KMinimum QualificationSoftware DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
