Ascend Learning is headquartered in Burlington, MA with additional office locations and remote workers in cities across the U.S. Ascend Learning is hiring a senior software engineer to join our technology team. This senior software engineer position will help support our ClickSafety brand. As a senior software engineer you will have responsibility for developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software applications in a for-profit organization utilizing Microsoft technologies. This position will work hybrid from our Leawood, Kansas office location preferred. Other Ascend Learning office locations/hybrid or remote may be considered. Responsibilities & Duties Develop and support enhancements and new functionality for the ClickSafety platform using cutting edge technologies, including: .NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, SQL, message queues and microservice architecture. Work with Platform Analysts, Scrum Masters, Quality Engineers, Product Owners, and other cross-functional resources to define and deliver business impacting projects. Capable of working independently, as well as with team members on different teams and in different locations. Function as primary liaison with the internal architecture team, helping to define and refine project initiatives. Perform code reviews with other team members in a reviewer capacity. Provide technical mentoring and guidance to other Software Engineers. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field and/or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of relevant experience in software development for web-based applications. Skills & Abilities Understanding of an Agile based development methodology or similar formal methodologies is required. Extensive knowledge through work experience with the following programming languages: .NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, SQL. Experience with Jira, GIT, IIS, .NET Framework and microservice-based architecture. Demonstrated organizational and teamwork skills, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to participate in collaborative development projects.
