About the job Tax Accountant

Position Overview:

Stardom Employment Consultants are looking for a highly skilled Tax Accountant to manage our client's company's tax reporting and compliance within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the company's financial health and ensure compliance with all tax-related matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to support tax planning and strategy
  • Maintain and update tax records and documentation for audit purposes
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions and financial statement disclosures
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors to manage tax audits and resolve any issues
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate their impact to management
  • Support the accounting team with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Develop and implement tax-saving strategies and best practices to optimize the company's tax position
  • Provide guidance and support to other departments on tax-related matters
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification is required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably within a corporate environment
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem fx, UltraTax, etc.) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
