What You'll Be Doing
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Developing a site-specific construction safety plan that is in concert with all OSHA standards and owner policies/procedures.
Developing/delivering
contractor orientation presentations and daily safety chats as required.
Assisting contractors with daily completion of JHA’s.
Conducting daily inspections of contractor work activities to ensure compliance with all OSHA standards, client policies/procedures, and safe work practices.
Providing contractors with direction and support in safe work practices in order to ensure zero incidents/injuries.
Any activity required that will help ensure zero incidents/injuries.
Ideal Background
Education:
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Public Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field from an accredited university is preferred.
Certification:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred.
Experience:
This position requires 10+ years of relevant construction safety management required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Generally responsible for managing all aspects of safety on a construction site including site specific Construction Safety Plans, orientation of contractors, ensuring that contractors complete daily JHA’s, safety chats, permits and frequent site inspections to ensure that all safe work practices are followed. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.
Working knowledge and understanding of rules, regulations, client and company requirements for Health and Safety including OSHA regulations. - Working knowledge of construction Safety principles and practices.
Ability to lead a team to deliver on commitments.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects efficiently and effectively.
Ability to perform work on an HSE project as directed, conduct required activities, maintain required documentation, and construct a meaningful report of activities.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders or perform duties utilizing a safety harness while working at elevated heights.
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment.
Ability to perform work outdoors or in process units in hot or cold climates.
Ability to perform duties within confined spaces for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
