IT Systems Engineer
Location: Malvern, PA - Hybrid
Duration: 6 months CTH

Job description
The IT System Engineer, you'll work with cutting edge technologies to design and develop new applications, features, or enhancements for underwriting applications. On our team, you'll play an integral role in communicating with business and development team. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to build upon, or learn about, but you'll gain in-depth exposure to new technologies on Duck Creek Policy Underwriting & Admin Platform utilizing Agile methodology.

Responsibilities
•Build, deploy, and support applications, services, and APIs that meet business requirements in a highly complex technical environment
•Co-ordinate with business stakeholders, business analysts, and project stakeholders to ensure proper assignments of user story that meets business needs and SLAs
•Interfaces with business areas and other Client IT teams to coordinate work, manage cross-functional dependencies and foster collaboration
•Ensuring application stability, participating in resolution of incidents and problems.
•Leverage your technical insights to stay on top of technical trends, evaluating new technologies and developing proofs of concept for incorporation into our infrastructure
•Knowledge on Server Migration, Network switching and Load Balancing, and Operating System Upgrade
•Support Business User Onboarding Process into Policy Admin Platform
•Support code migration from development through to production by leveraging process automation via CICD/DevOps pipeline setup
•Create the necessary high level and low-level design documentation for the delivery and operational team hand-offs
•Communicate regularly in accordance with agreed upon communications plan to higher management

Qualifications - External
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any other IT related field, or equivalent work experience
•Minimum of 3-5 years of IT experience in a comparable role as Infrastructure/Software professional
•Nice to have experience in P&C insurance/Life Insurance/ Investment/Banking domain
•Experience of working in agile environments with application team
•Knowledge of DMBS' with the ability to write SQL queries
•Experience with DevOps tools, Jenkins and Jira or equivalent Agile tools
•Nice to have experience in .net or any equivalent technology stacks
•Strong analytical skills and co-ordination skills to achieve results
•Ability to identify, understand and communicate business needs

•Demonstrates sense of urgency and accountability; sets priorities and acts on key issues
•Team player mentality; prioritize organizational priority
