The Estimator is responsible for several duties at Exactec, including preparing accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics by providing ongoing assistance to our sales staff. Estimator will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical and analytical skills along with an adeptness to manage relationships with key stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares cost estimates and pricing presentations by analyzing vendor proposals along with manufacturing requirements

Prepares work to be estimated by gathering project specifications, requesting and analyzing vendor quotations, examining production methods, and ascertaining best manufacturing practices.

Identifies labor, material, and scheduling requirements by studying proposals, drawings, and other related documents.

Refers incomplete specifications requirements to account managers, sales service, or client for clarification.

Computes costs by identifying labor, material, and time requirements.

Refines specification based on

knowledge/experience

to achieve efficient production methods, lower costs, increased suitability for end use, and adds additional manufacturing steps to ensure quality standards.

Presents prepared estimates to client/account manager by assembling and displaying both numerical and descriptive details.

Creates organized and detailed production planning that can be communicated throughout the manufacturing process.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks/goals in a timely manner.

Build relationships with established, new, and key vendors.

Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.).

Other projects as assigned or needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

3-5 years estimating experience in a manufacturing environment.

Bachelors degree or equivalent industry experience in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS

Ability to manage multiple, ongoing projects with efficiency and accuracy.

Analytical mindset with emphasis on mathematical calculations.

Exceptional written and oral communication in a professional business environment.

Aptitude to learn, and put into effective use, multiple software platforms.

Excellent organizational skills.

Thoroughness and reliability.

Proficient in relevant software including MS Office Suite.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Familiar with CNC machinery centers

Working knowledge of ERP systems (Global Shop) or equivalent

Plastic Fabrication, laser cutting, router cutting knowledge is beneficial

The primary source of revenue, at that time, was derived from Litton Industries by printing on microwave oven doors. The company purchased its first laser in 1979 and incorporated in 1980. Subsequently, the company has experienced consistent growth, occupying three different facilities over the years.

Our current location houses our office, design, and manufacturing areas in a 33,000 square foot facility. It is situated on six acres with adequate room to expand as we continue to grow. We also utilize outside warehousing.

Under the present ownership since 2000, Exactec is a full-service plastic fabrication and screen printing company, that consistently provides national retail customers and Point-of-Purchase design firms with exceptional displays, signage, and store fixtures.
