Finishing Lead, Millwork

We are looking for a Finishing Lead to join our Millwork team. The Finishing Lead, Millwork performs finishing operations to produce high quality finished wood products in an efficient and cost effective manner. Proficiency in color technology and mixing is critical in this role

Shift Available: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

A variety of these traits will help land you this job. If you have:

• a High School Diploma or GED
• Three to five years of minimum related experience in wood finishing required.

On top of that you must:

• have a high school diploma or GED (required)
• 5+ years of related experience in wood finishing (required)
• have knowledge and experience in solvent based materials and related information

In this position, you will:

• participate in application of finishing materials including paints, stains, varnishes, lacquers, and polyurethanes to wood and other substrates
• work alongside the shop Supervisor to create and maintain a production finishing schedule
• assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures
• be responsible for operating and maintaining a custom mixing station
• maintain finishing area cleanliness, organization and an OSHA safe working environment
• oversee Finishing crew through the execution of all finishing operations, including troubleshooting of finish and equipment related issues
• ensure all necessary paperwork is completed, including job related QC checks and maintenance of hazardous waste logs
• complete time studies and material estimates as needed
• monitor material usage and quantities on hand to avoid stock outs during production
• Set up and run production spray lines
• perform and/or schedule preventive maintenance and repair of booth and spray equipment
• Train and develop the team in finishing processes
• provide job shadowing experiences for new hires
• attend daily meetings as scheduled by your manager
• use and operate mechanical spray booth controls as well as spray and mixing equipment
• perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management
