Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Alice Springs, Australia providing enterprise-wide systems engineering and integration support to an operational government customer within the Intelligence Community. This position manages moderately sized projects or processes with minimal oversight and provides measurable input to new products, processes or standards in operational plans in order to implement customer integrations and/or objectives.

The position works in a SCIF environment with flexible work hours Monday - Friday to accommodate work/life balance practices.

This position is an onsite role and will support cross site and enterprise level planning and implementation practices.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • The Senior Systems Engineer  provides systems engineering and integration support to assess, plan, coordinate, schedule and implement projects from inception through system transition.

  • Problems and issues faced can fluctuate and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem and determine the appropriate resolution. 

  • This position communicates with many levels of program, other contractor and government stakeholders and works to positively guide parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures and practices.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are necessary to effectively manage projects in this environment.

  • A key purpose of this position is to manage system integration projects and provide reliable data to the Customer enabling them to make informed decisions regarding the installation, integration checkout and test of operational system modifications and upgrades.

This is an international assignment with addition OCONUS Compensation emoluments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5+ years of prior experience or In lieu of a degree 9+ years of experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Experience with Systems installation, integration and test experience.

  • Experience with Engineering technical abilities and project management skills.

  • Experience with internal and external customers in a team environment (Government, Military, SETA, and Contractor)

  • Experience with Request For Change (RFC) impact reviews and assessment experience.

  • Active and transferable Top Secret/SCI CI with Poly, U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance OR an ACTIVE TS/Positive Vetting Security Clearance with Australian Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced with Customer NSIS and/or rapid delivery methods

  • Evidence of excellent customer relationships

  • Experience working across contract and location boundaries

  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence beneficial

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
