Financial Operations Analyst Sr
Location:
This position will work a remote schedule. The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of a PulsePoint location.
*Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
The Financial Operations Analyst Sr is responsible for performing analysis and evaluating technical solutions/process improvements to complex accounts payable issues. Assists higher-level Analysts/Consultants with supporting analysis for the most technical and complex accounting system enhancements including regression testing. Identifies courses of action/processes that will save time and shows the return on investment. Completes accounts payable activities for the purpose of accurate and timely processing and reporting both internally and externally. Activities include processing purchase order and manual invoices, associate expense reports and contingent worker expense reports.
How you will make an impact:
Executes moderate to complex invoice and expense report analysis and processing, and provides input on how decision support systems will supply data required to make timely payments.
Maintains accounts payable reporting needs from finance systems.
Must understand the requirements of internal and external customers, how the various systems are to be used to meet those needs, and assist users in answering questions or resolving issues.
Acts as a liaison to financial systems or management to relay system issues or determine better business solutions.
Maintains documentation of all exceptions and leads communication with all areas, including Purchasing, Program Finance, and Contract Accounting, to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoices and expense reports on an ongoing basis.
Provides recommendations based on analysis of the business processes, business situation, and full knowledge of systems.
Develops system test cases for process improvements and system upgrades.
Updates existing policies and procedures to keep them current based on enhanced systems/processes. Provides training to lower-level positions.
Participates in issues meetings with financial systems support to communicate issues/concerns impacting the department.
Creates new processes/procedures and discusses them with management before taking action to implement them to ensure they fit within the overall strategic vision of the department.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BA/BS in accounting or finance.
Requires a minimum of 2 years experience in a finance/accounts payable field capacity.
Requires a minimum of 1 year experience working with advanced reporting tools and experience with accounts payable and enterprise reporting systems; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
Background in government contract accounting is strongly preferred.
Experience in Costpoint or Hyland systems is strongly preferred.
MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA or applicable professional designation is strongly preferred.
