The Columbus, Ohio-based company has more than 3,500 employees. Job Description The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for supervising all front desk operations, staff and scheduling, and managing the hotel’s inventory. This position usually works a regularly scheduled front desk shift and must be available to work any shift as needed. This position requires strong communication skills and demonstrated leadership abilities. Position Responsibilities Directly supervise all front office staff and ensures proper completion of all front office duties and provides excellent service to guests. Direct and coordinate the activities of the front desk, reservations, guest services, and telephone areas. Ensure the proper appearance of the front desk, reservations, guest services and all public areas, including the complementary coffee area. Assist with various accounting/financial functions including AP, city ledger billing, guaranteed no-show billing, direct bill accounts, 100% files, end-of-month reports and other department reports. Aggressively pursue the hotel’s revenue goals and effectively utilize yield management and revenue maximization tools. Constantly seek new ways to increase room revenue and occupancy. Work closely with the sales team and capitalize on all revenue opportunities while aggressively and effectively managing and continuously updating rates on the web and all other distribution channels. Effectively control and manage all front office and operational expenses including labor, overtime, supplies etc., and seek and implement cost savings strategies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferably in hotel, restaurant or retail management required. 2 years of supervisory/management experience strongly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills required. Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc); PMS experience preferred. Profit and loss and budgeting experience strongly preferred. Sales background and rate/yield management experiences are preferred.
