Description Position at JAC Products Our Saline plant is currently seeking Die Setter (Mold Tech I) 3rd shift to join our injection molding department. The Die Setter will be responsible for the set-up and operate one or more injection molding machines that mold thermoplastic materials. SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:Insures all mold tools are properly set, pulled out of the molding machines in an expeditious and safe manner, and placed neatly in their proper storage area per their storage placement location guidelines.Adheres to all lockout/tag out procedures when setting or pulling mold tools from the molding machine. Insures all mold tools are properly cleaned, before start up and after shutdown, and sprayed with rust preventative prior to removing the mold from the molding machineInsures all auxiliary items; hydraulic cores, sequential valve gates, water routing/water flow, thermolaters, chillers, and fast heat controllers are functioning properly and all mold setup positions and limits are correct upon completion of mold installation.Ensures that the applicable portion of the First Piece paperwork is completed.Coordinates daily priorities with the Business Unit Supervisor on press start up, shutdown, and mold change priority.Communicates daily issues with the next shift Die Setter/Process Technicians.Ensures that cycle times are correct as recorded on the available process sheet and process is running within the defined limits. If process is not capable of running within the defined limits the reason must be noted on the process tracking sheet.Insures the process tracking sheet is completed for each job that is currently running.Responsible for processing a product that meets all established quality standards and criteria.Shall be responsible for understanding and participating in all aspects of the continuous improvement process and lean manufacturing.Daily job performance is expected to support the JAC Quality Statement.Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment, in addition to daily housekeeping, visual controls and workplace organization.Performs all other functions as required; included are any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work within JAC Products Inc.Operate Forklift, Overhead Crane, and Aerial Lifts as needed.SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:Maintain a team-oriented working environment that allows for individual differences and provides for individual growth.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedure manuals and operating instructions. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to use various types of tools (manual, electric, pneumatic etc...).Basic computer skills, including P.C. knowledge and current technology software familiarity. Well-developed communication skills - both written & oral.Strong organizational skills.Knowledge of a general manufacturing environment.Knowledge of resins, materials and packaging.Knowledge of safety equipment/procedures on all presses and machinery.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:Two (2) years in plastic injection molding environment.At JAC Products Saline, we make roof racks and other exterior auto part components in our Injection Molding and Assembly departments.
