SummaryAn Automation Field Engineer is primarily responsible to diagnose and repair automated welding equipment and the computer systems that control it. This position requires a background in:Electronic and/or Electro-mechanical support and repairMachinery software operating systemsWelding processes - GMAW, GTAW & PAWTraining in the use and general maintenance of equipmentThe position has high visibility interacting with Customers, Austrian Engineering, and North American Technical Support Engineers. The ideal candidate must be comfortable in communicating both verbally and in writing to personnel at all levels of technical expertise. Travel is a large part of this job, with notice as little as 24 hours. This position reports to the PW Segment Manager Automation USA.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesPosition Location - Houston, TexasReporting Supervisor - Fronius USA PW Segment Manager AutomationTeam Leader in charge of Automation Service PersonnelTraining of Automation Service Personnel, TSN and Regional TSR & TSA personnelDocumenting level of proficiencyIncluding fully using CRM and RESCO appAll customer visits require service order whether paid, "good faith" , or warrantyScheduling of Automation Service Personnel; possibly TSN and Regional TSR personnelHandheld Automation System Sales Demonstration and Training SupportIn-houseTrade ShowsCustomized system training in AustriaCustomer calibration to standard calibration procedures set by TSN ManagerSystem InstallationsCustomer ownedCustomer rental unitsReporting of installations through CRM RESCO applicationCertifying customers' operators and maintenance personnel are fully trained on equipment purchaseAfter sales & warranty workReporting of after sales & warranty through CRM RESCO app. Houston lab demonstrations and application workReporting of all in lab weld tests and documentation per procedures set by TSN ManagerManaging Fronius USA Automation in-house (Houston) repairsCoordinate and assign all in-house demonstrations and application work to automation service teamEnsuring Service Hours are properly allocated to regional Automation Sales in CRMMaintaining Houston Application and Demonstration Facilities in good working order and customer presentable condition at all timeMaintain Automation Rental Equipment Fleet in good operational conditionEquipment is cleanedEquipment is tested and available for rentalMaintaining Customer Service Records in CRMMaintaining Automation Service Documents on Share Point for all USA Automation Installations and Upcoming InstallationsAssist Automation Manager in interviewing service candidatesAll other duties as assigned by management.RequirementsAssociate degree from an accredited educational institution in Mechanical and Electrical Technology; Military certification in Mechanical Electrical Technology or 5-10 years of Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance experience or Bachelor Science Engineering Degree from an accredited educational institution Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or WeldingRegular TravelMust have and maintain a valid USA driver's licensePossess a valid passport and/or has the ability to obtain and pay for a valid passportHealth and SafetyMust comply with all safety and health standards established by Fronius USA, LLC and federal, state, or local requirementsAbility to bend and reach, with repetitive motionHearing, naturally or with aidsVision 20/20, with or without correctionPhysical demands of the job include: standing, use of hands to manipulate objects, talking, hearing, looking, typing, walking, twisting, and bendingEmployees could be requested to lift, carry, reach above the shoulder, stoop, squat, kneel, and crouchEmployees could be required to lift up to 50 poundsEmployees will perform duties in an office environment and a field settingEmployees will be occasionally exposed to tripping hazardsEmployee will be exposed to excessive noise level in the work environment which will require ear protectionEmployee will be exposed to welding arcs that emit UV light which requires the wearing of appropriate clothesAt customer facilities, the employee could be exposed to higher temperatures (exceeding 100F), high humidity (over 50%), and industrial dirt and grimeWe offer a generous benefit package includingPTO available immediately plus 11 paid holidaysEmployer matched 401(k)Medical, Dental, and Vision covered 100% for employees.50% company paid Health, Dental, Vision for your family.Employee Assistance Program & Mental Health SupportShort-Term and Long-Term DisabilityFlexible Spending Accounts for Health Care and Dependent CareFronius USA, LLC is proud to offer Equal Employment Opportunities and committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.
