Overview

The Agency of Transportation (AOT) is seeking a Parts Specialist to manage and maintain the inventory and stockrooms for the southwest region of the AOT Fleet, at the Rutland and Bennington locations. The person in this position is responsible for ordering, receiving and issuing parts, materials, and supplies from vendors in accordance with Bulletin 3.5, and will maintain a computerized inventory. The parts and supplies ordered will be used in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of vehicles, equipment, shop tools and shop equipment. The Parts Specialist will assist in managing safety at the facilities, such as ensuring that current SDS sheets are available, and conducting inspections of fire extinguishers. Additionally, this position may need to operate a forklift and front-end loader, and provide training to Agency staff.

Environmental Factors

Incumbents must be able to lift and move heavy parts, equipment or supplies. Must be available to work necessary overtime to provide all supply room services during emergency or storm situations. Some fieldwork will be necessary to inspect outlying inventory locations. Private means of transportation may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) or more years of experience in inventory, or in automotive maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

Automotive vocational coursework.
Experience with computers and ability to learn new programs.

Special Requirements

A current valid driver's license is required.
