The Sr. HR/People Services Generalist supports the Director of People Services and VP of People Operations to perform, coordinate and oversee administrative duties and mid-level projects while providing an extensive level of support, acting with little supervision, to anticipate needs while managing the day-to-day workflow and prioritizing various projects.

What you will do:
  • Administers the pre-employment process: background checks, physicals/drug screens, collection of candidate information, employee eligibility verifications, etc.
  • Provides HR support by working with respective team members on the various stages of an employee lifecycle (i.e., workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, annual goal setting, coaching and performance (mid-year, year-end) management, employee development/training, compensation (merit increases) programs); Working closely with HR Business partners, Generalists, and our Recruitment Team to proactively develops HR solutions that support the business strategies and achievement of our company.
  • Works closely with Associates, Managers, and Senior HR Leaders of the organization to build credible relationships allowing for better decisions and organizational effectiveness.
  • Works collaboratively with the Managers within your assigned locations to guide and interpret company policies and practices to provide direction and counsel to members of the management team and employees using creative and practical solutions to proactively anticipate, prevent, and resolve business issues.
  • Provides guidance and may support the development, revision, and audit of HR administrative processes (workflows) such as promotions and employee status changes, as well as integrity of the HR data in ExponentHR. Provides HR Reports and analysis to leadership as requested.
  • Conduct complex/sensitive employee-related investigations and perform advanced employee relations activities, including support and counseling for job-related conflicts, problem-solving, and employee dispute resolution, managing employee performance issues, reviewing and assessing termination requests, and conducting exit interviews.
  • Conduct Associate and Supervisor training regarding HRIS tools, benefits, policies and procedures, and the prevention of harassment and discrimination.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Handle all HR involvement with unemployment and worker's compensation activities and claims.
  • Maintains constant communication with all Branch Managers and Regional Managers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What we Need From you:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, OR are currently pursuing.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR processes that make up the employee lifecycle such as recruitment, onboarding, coaching, compensation planning, performance management and discipline.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Outstanding active listening and persuasion skills; demonstrated ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization; demonstrated business acumen.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
