Position: Supplier Quality Engineer As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability for our products. You will lead and support key processes including qualification audits, surveillance audits, the production part approval process (PPAP), early production containment, corrective actions, and receiving inspection activities. Your role is pivotal in developing and implementing robust procedures and systems that enhance our inspection processes and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement procedures and systems to promote continuous product improvement and support organizational objectives. Collaborate with business units, manufacturing sites, and suppliers to address quality issues, facilitate supplier corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Analyze data to create, maintain, and present findings and corrective measures to stakeholders effectively. Create and maintain databases and product lifecycle management workflows to support new product development and the maintenance of existing products. Review and assess Supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions, including dimensional layouts, material certifications, control plans, PFMEAs, process capability, and gage studies. Lead the problem-solving process for supplier-related quality issues. Conduct supplier qualification and surveillance audits with cross-functional teams and suppliers. Participate in design and contract reviews for supplied parts and components. Manage projects related to quality system infrastructure and new product development. Support compliance audits from agencies such as UL, TUV, and CSA. Supervise quality technicians. Desired Skills and Experience: Proficiency in root cause analysis and quality improvement tools, including histograms, Pareto charts, run charts, 5-Whys, and cause & effect diagrams. Experience with a variety of supplied materials, parts, and assemblies. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases, XA, PowerLink, Agile, and other manufacturing applications. Excellent facilitation and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership in project management and timely completion of assigned tasks. Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T. Knowledge of measurement techniques, metrology, inspection methods, tools, and equipment. At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 3 years in supplier quality engineering. Experience in the manufacturing of consumer goods. Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor are preferred. Familiarity with quality processes/procedures and experience in 6-Sigma Lean methodologies, including advanced statistics, design of experiments, and value stream mapping. Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Join our team and contribute to the high standards of quality and excellence that define our products.
