We offer competitive benefits and excellent training programs for all our employees.We are seeking an? **Animal Care Technician I** to join our? **Insourcing Solutions** ?team located in? **South San Francisco, CA.**As the **?Animal Care Technician I** , you will work with our research animals to ensure they are well cared for.Additional responsibilities include:+ Monitor daily animal health and welfare when performing daily animal health observations.+ Perform animal husbandry duties to maintain the quality and health of research animals, to include perform daily water bottle /automatic water line and cage checks; provide appropriate food and water; perform cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required; record animal health concerns per SOP and/or specified protocols.+ Perform cage wash duties and sanitation.+ Maintain accurate records of room logs, health case logs, animal breeding, and support areas as required by Institute and facility.+ Perform rodent restraint, handling, and technical manipulation as assigned by the on-site Supervisor or facility veterinarian, to include health case treatments, identification, genotyping, health surveillance sampling, and euthanasia.+ Receive, inspect, and put away incoming animal shipments and supplies.+ Operate equipment and use supplies according to guidelines.+ Perform general housekeeping and adhere to safety procedures.+ May provide study support on non-invasive techniques including, but not limited to, animal fasting, body weight, food and water measurement, mating, plug check, etc.+ Performs other duties as assigned.**Job Qualifications** The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care Technician I position:+ High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in animal or life sciences field preferred.+ Minimum of one year related laboratory animal experience is preferred.+ AALAS certification at the ALAT level/CALAS preferred+ An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.The pay for this position is?$20-24/hour USD per hour.?Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications and locations. Schedule: Monday through Friday 7AM-3:30PM.
