- Oversees and leads efforts to ensure that the site is compliant with Trelleborg's Safety@Work program requirements.
- Develops and manages on-site safety committee and provides follow-up action when required.
- Enforces, develops, and maintains all safety protocols and initiatives.
- Responsible for all environmental reporting and compliance (such as EPA reporting, ensuring GHS labels are compliant, developing and maintaining safety data sheets and risk assessments, etc.)
- Providing specialist support to other activities at TSS Streamwood, such as Supplier Selection and Development, Purchasing, Operations, Laboratory, Customer Support and Design.
- Promotes the sharing and implementation of operational best practices.
- Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluates overall company performance, and identifies corrective action to be taken.
- Establishes and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
- Oversees and updates Emergency Action Plan and serves as primary contact for injury and incident notification, performs accident investigation, and provides case management. Maintains OSHA compliance and written log of safety inspection activities, reports, submits OSHA 300 log, and handles all safety related correspondence.
- Develops and maintains project cost/change controls, and budget/accounting records.
- Assists in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and AS9100 certification adherence and assists with internal and external audits.
- Performs emergency response drills and schedules all safety related training.
- Implements and oversees any and all Trelleborg mandated safety programs and takes ownership of all safety-related tasks.
- Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker's compensation claims.
- Ensures personal protective equipment (PPE) standards and rules are being followed and maintained.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment
The employee primarily works in a normal office environment. While in the plant, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level in the plant work environment can be loud. As directed by the management, this position is required to perform miscellaneous duties to insure acceptable production and quality standards; insure a safe and healthful workplace; and maintain the facility in a clean and orderly fashion.

The position is primarily exposed to a normal office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking, and lifting less than 20 pounds infrequently throughout the day. When lifting anything the employee feels in beyond their capacity, or anything more than 50 pounds, the employee is to request assistance in lifting from another employee.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Travel
This is a full-time day-shift position, and days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of shift may vary depending on business needs.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in safety science, engineering, occupational safety, environmental sciences, industrial hygiene, or related field or 3+ years of related experience in coordination of environmental health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
OSHA training and EHS certification.
Work Authorization
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
