Job Overview

As a Senior, Project Management on the Macy’s Energy Team (a regional and nationally recognized team), you’ll require a strong operational and professional technical background along with the experience necessary to support specific facilities initiatives directly related to energy management. This position will provide leadership and analytical support in assessing Macy’s energy opportunities in depth and developing and executing mitigation strategies. Candidates must have successfully demonstrated sufficient experience in working with teams to develop and steer internal colleagues to issues and remedies for best operations. Additionally, this position will require the survey of existing buildings and subsequently produce suggested improvement strategies which will reduce energy usage and improve adherence to standards and functionality. Will act as project manager or project sponsor on one or more projects. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do

Provide leadership and analytical support on energy matters to field staff on a weekly basis.

Lead the process and management of energy related infrastructure repairs and upgrades.

Create and maintain organized models and databases used to assess energy use in Macy’s Inc. buildings.

Partner with internal resources and external contractors to develop and lead the execution of the projects.

Develop expertise on specific issues affecting regional markets and partner with internal teams on resolution.

Perform cost analysis and feasibility studies on energy projects.

Present findings on specific issues for use on energy calls and reports.

Review building energy usage and subsequently produce suggested improvement strategies.

Identify opportunities via objective evaluation (on site and trending) of current operating conditions.

Provide on-going monitoring, and analysis to maintain the integrity of energy savings programs.

Facilitate/coordinate efforts of Macy’s Inc. internal resources as well as third party contractors or consultants.

Keep management informed on a timely basis of progress, status, and concerns for each assignment.

Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.

Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment.

Ability to lift/move up to 25lbs.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical and/or diagram form; solve problems with several abstract and concrete variables.

This position may require constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
