Then you will love joining our team We are looking to fill an immediate opening on the East West Vail Valley Hospitality HR (VVHR) team for a bilingual (English & Spanish) Human Resources Generalist. The VVHR teams supports and partners with all of East West's property management and hospitality teams of employees, managers and directors in the Vail/Eagle County Area.

This position provides the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of HR areas as a true generalist, including Employee Onboarding, Recognition Programs, Training, Worker's Compensation, Event programming, and general employment issues. This role is a great way to establish a solid foundation in your HR knowledge and collaborate on innovative ideas and projects within a highly regarded, local company.

Duties Include:

  • Provides HR support for our operations teams including onboarding, recognition programs, processes, initiatives, surveys, and more.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of all HR paperwork, including onboarding paperwork, completion and filing of I9 forms, E-Verify, and background checks.
  • Answers questions and responds to inquiries from applicants, employees and managers regarding their employment with East West Family of Companies, and its policies and procedures.
  • Maintains employee files, conducts audits & purges, and responds to verifications of employment. Prepare audit reports, documenting findings.
  • Manages workers compensation program and unemployment claims, and codes invoices for payment by the Accounts Payable team. Reviews all reports of employee bonuses & the winter incentive program tracking, along with other reports.
  • Greets and assists individuals applying for positions with East West Hospitality. This includes explaining available positions, helping individuals apply online or with a paper application, prescreening applicants and working to match them with an appropriate potential position.
  • Communicates and assists our Spanish speaking applicants and employees in all the above. May also help translate internal written communications, memos, presentations, or conversations as needed. Offers support to our Benefits department assisting with verbal and written Spanish communications as needed.
Location: On-site in Avon, CO - The Seasons at Avon

Employment Type: Full Time, Year Round

Pay Rate: $24-$31 / hour depending on experience

Schedule: 8 hours, Monday - Friday, typically 9am-5pm but flexibility between 7:30am-5:30pm depending on your preference (Must be available to be at the HR Office when it is open for employees (9am-3pm). Some weekend/evening hours may be necessary for special events.

Minimum Requirements
  • 1-3 years related experience and / or training in most or all of the above functions preferred.
  • General Human Resources experience in a hospitality or similar industry preferred, but not required. Guest service and office administrative experience strongly preferred.
  • Fluency (written and verbal) in English is required; Spanish proficiency is preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand and apply technical procedures, employment laws and company policies and procedures. Ability to correspond articulately in written and verbal form. Effectively present information and respond to questions from applicants, associates, managers, guests and the general public.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and the ability to learn additional systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
