6 Months The position of Engineer, R&D is a technical engineering role focused on supporting the on-market products manufactured within our Toxicology (TOX) Business Unit. The position will be managed within the Infectious Disease business unit. This job description will be reviewed periodically and is subject to change by management. RESPONSIBILITIES: Sustaining engineering, electronic component life-cycle management, instrument field complaint investigation and documentation to support these efforts. Root cause analysis tools to troubleshoot various levels of electro-mechanical sub- systems and instruments. Contribute inputs on a diverse cross functional/cross site team and external contract manufacturers and engineers. Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies. Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships. Works primarily in a standard office or lab environment with air conditioning, good lighting with a low to moderate noise level. May also visit and work in research labs, testing labs, production and other areas as well as vendor facilities as necessary. May, on occasion, work with a variety of production equipment, small hand tools, test equipment, and precision measuring instruments. Also uses standard office equipment such as telephone, copier, and a personal computer with standard office software. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: BS in Electrical Engineering, MS preferred; or equivalent experience/combined education At least 3+ years of experience working with medical device. Conducts measurements specified in test plans, documents and tabulates results, and provides engineering test reports as required. Experience in electronics design for test, manufacturing and assembly with an understanding of design impact on EMC, ESD and Immunity.
