Job Summary and Qualifications

The Vice President for Enrollment Management-West is a unique opportunity for an enrollment leader who aspires to become a corporate Chief Enrollment Officer. The VPE-West will initially co-lead the enrollment activity for the College with both roles reporting to the COO. Both roles will work with the Galen C-Suite and Cabinet to set the strategic vision, drive change, and achieve quantifiable business results for a growing multi-ground campus and online pure college of nursing. He/she influences organizational marketing strategy, particularly as it relates to demand generation and enrollment performance. The executive is an innovative and inspirational leader with exceptional relationship and strategic influencing skills who can achieve outstanding results in a matrix environment.

Position Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  1. Co-lead in developing a comprehensive marketing and recruiting plan for a rapidly expanding pure College of Nursing.
  1. Provides vision, leadership, and strong strategic direction to direct reports and matrixed enrollment staff in supporting the mission of the College.
  1. Continually works in a matrixed campus/corporate campus enrollment environment to improve enrollment management from inquiry to matriculation.
  1. Embrace the philosophy and culture of Galen while it is thoughtfully expanding access to nursing education by formulating goals and objectives for marketing and admissions and oversees achievement of those goals.
  1. Provides effective and efficient management of both the human and financial enrollment resources.
  1. Ensures that resources are allocated effectively to achieve objectives.
  1. Travels routinely to Galen campuses to ensure adherence to standardized process related to enrollment processes and standards.
  1. Reviews expenses, evaluates data, prepares periodic reports, and develops annual budget recommendations.
  1. Assists with the development and implementation of student enrollment goals to accomplish optimum enrollment levels of appropriate size, quality, and diversity.
  1. Establishes tools for measuring the effectiveness of external resources utilized in recruitment efforts and responds innovatively to applying new resources to meet recruitment goals.
  1. A continual emphasis on assessing and strengthening enrollment operations.
  1. Communicates effectively and frequently with the college community on enrollment initiatives, progress, and results.
  1. Coordinates with student development and academic units to create partnerships that result in improved student access and success.
  1. Coordinates with the marketing and communications leadership to facilitate market analysis, planning, and implementation of target market initiatives.
  1. Hires, trains, monitors, and conducts scheduled evaluations of the work performance of employees supervised.
  1. Adheres to and fosters high standards of ethical conduct, compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and appropriate financial oversight and controls.
  1. Perform and execute quarterly reviews and submit annual reviews for approval.
  2. Help with the interviewing and hiring of new enrollment staff.
  3. Work on assigned committees and teams within the organization.
  4. Work with academics in communicating new policies and changes that impact enrollment.
  1. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree with ten (10) years of experience in the Enrollment Management Environment focusing on Admissions; masters degree preferred.
  1. Expertise in managing in a matrixed environment for a multi-ground campus and online college that is a student-focused enrollment organization, including the ability to develop strategic communication programs to prospective students.
  1. Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and intermediate computer literacy.
  1. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit at a desk for eight hours at a time.
