Holds or has ability to obtain food protection manager certification. District will provide training to qualified individual.

The Head Cook will be responsible for the following:
-Directs and assists all food service personnel in preparation, serving and clean-up of foods and equipment in a quick and pleasant manner.
-Prepares food on the daily menu in accordance with Health Department standards.
-Prepares serving station for lunch and presents food in an appealing manner.
-Assists in preparation, serving and clean-up of foods and equipment in a quick and pleasant manner.
-Serves all staff and students in a kind, courteous, and polite (never confrontational) manner.
-Follows the use of the standardized menu and follows portion control guideline.
-Assists with any extra activities needed to be performed by the Food Service Department.
-Handles most product ordering, placing orders weekly with Food Service Director.
-Keeps accurate count of food portions using completed production records.
-Directs and assists in the complete breakdown and clean-up at the end of meal service.
-Directs and assists with cleaning schedule.
-Insures that someone is checking food purchases and recording meal purchases.
-Assumes responsibility for proper dating and rotating of food products.
-Sets up food for the following day, making sure all products are on hand for the menu.
-Assumes responsibility for daily refrigeration temperatures.
-Assumes responsibility for daily edit form accuracy.
-Coordinates with Principal and Food Service Director on personnel matters.
-Demonstrates cooperation, courtesy and willingness to improve conditions and situations involving staff and students.
-Performs other related food service tasks as assigned by the Principal and/or Food Service Director.
