SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates entire programs of customer related as well as internal process improvement projects. This position is responsible for supervision of a group of XPReS Project Managers, and represents the XPReS Project Management resources and program of projects across all Sharp Packaging locations, interfacing with Customer Project Teams, Vendors, Business Partners and all Cross-functional Team leaders throughout the Sharp Organization.

Responsible for a group of up of 4- 8 direct report Sr. Project Managers/Project Managers and/or similar project support related resources required to support a program of XPReS projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintains overall responsibility for a Team of Sharp XPReS Project Managers to assure all assigned XPReS Team resources:
  • Maintains XPReS process Templates for all active projects
  • Schedules, facilitates, documents, communicates monthly XPReS Project Team update meetings
  • Maintains XPReS Project Smartsheet collaboration areas for all active projects
  • Conducts XPReS program meetings to assure proper resourcing and timeline management are maintained for all assigned XPReS Teams.
  • Participates and presents in Biweekly XPReS Project Review Board meetings.


Assures proper project initiation practices are adhered to by use of required XPReS project kickoff documentation for all assigned projects

Works in conjunction with the Project Coordinators assuring all project sales orders are managed to meet customer commitments.

Assures all assigned XPReS Team resources comply with the required use of the QAD application in support of all assigned projects.

Coordinates with all cross functional group leaders within the Sharp organization to assure proper staffing and resource management is provided to support the assigned program of projects.

Responsible for the supervision, training, performance counseling and professional development of all assigned XPReS Team resources.

Meets regularly with customer Teams, suppliers, and vendors to assure all XPReS business practices are maintained at a level required to assure an exceptional level of customer satisfaction is achieved on all assigned projects.

Assures all assigned XPReS resources create and utilize project timelines, identifying critical path and milestone items required to produce all required customer requirements within the expected timelines.

Assumes the leadership role and represents the main point of contact for the XPReS Project Management function at Sharp Commercial packaging.

Responsible for development and execution of ongoing continuous improvement efforts to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sharp XPReS process at Sharp Commercial.

Works closely with the Site Leader to make recommendations for process improvements and capital requests for new equipment.

Maintains an ongoing list of KPIs for all assigned XPReS Teams to assure continuous improvement efforts are in place to assure compliance with and improvements to required KPIs.

Assures all required components and documentation are prepared as required to assure availability for packaging start-up requirements are met for all assigned projects.

Coordinates Customer review discussions in conjunction with Account Executives and other functional leaders within the organization in order to assure open communication and ongoing continuous improvement efforts are maintained for all assigned customer project Teams.

Support new technology platforms in order to expand the capabilities of the Center of Excellence (COE). This may include automation, customer owned equipment, or new emerging technologies.

Demonstrates a deep knowledge of all equipment trains within a COE.

Develops Project Managers into Senior Project Managers with the ability to supervise, allowing for tiers of supervision within the group.

Act as champion for new emerging productivity tools and best practices. Participate in cross functional meetings to support the development of new tools and best practices.

Participates in Tier 3 Leadership Meetings and runs Tier 2 Meetings with their team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises multiple XPReS Team Project Managers and other assigned project support resources spanning multiple Sharp Corporation Account Executives. Executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university ideally in a technical discipline (Packaging Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering) preferred not required; or at least ten years related and documented experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area. PMP Certification or concurrent pursuit of certification, or other relevant Project Management professional development training reviewed and approved by immediate Supervisor. Experience in a cGMP environment, preferably in a contract services provider organization. Advanced knowledge of S&OP planning processes, including MRP and materials management business practices.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Visio, Sharepoint and Project. Familiar with ERP systems.
