Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive conflict searches utilizing various internal and external research databases
  • Review and analyze conflict reports for legal and business conflict of interest situations, articulate potential issues, and advise attorneys of any issues in an effective manner
  • Work closely with other team members, attorneys, secretaries and upper management to assist in resolving conflict issues, opening up new matters and completing other requests / duties in a timely manner
  • Assist daily with evaluating that all new matters, new clients and engagement letters are in compliance with the firm's business standard. This includes: following up on conflict checks, reviewing engagement letters, following up on matters that are pending and the ability to identify potential issues with new work
  • Review client engagement letters and conflict waivers to ensure compliance with firm and ethical requirements
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Proficient in Elite/3E preferred
Education and Experience:
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Active bar license in at least one state and in good standing
  • Conflicts department of a law firm or equivalent legal work preferred
  • Articulate an understanding of legal relationships and the nature of representations undertaken
  • Interest in being part of the firm's administrative team as opposed to a practicing attorney
