The vessel is a 500 Ton vessel, 180x42x14 ft draft that assists with lightering operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

The boats run a 28/28 work schedule with 28 days on and 28 off.

  • Overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of the vessels engines, boilers, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
  • Managing the engineering crew, including training, supervision, and performance evaluations.
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to ensure the continued reliability and efficiency of the vessels mechanical systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant national and international laws and regulations related to the operation and maintenance of the vessels mechanical systems.
  • Maintaining accurate records of the vessels engineering activities, including logs of maintenance and repair work and fuel consumption.
  • Managing the budget for the vessels engineering department, including purchasing and inventory control.
  • Overseeing the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment, as needed.
  • Coordinating with other shipboard departments, such as the Deck Department, to ensure that the vessel is operated safely and efficiently.
  • Participating in emergency response drills and exercises, and providing leadership during emergency situations.
